Megan currently serves as the Assistant City Manager for the City of Wyoming. In her role, Megan oversees economic development, downtown development, communications and other duties for the City.
Prior to returning to the City of Wyoming, Megan tried her hand in the business world, serving in project management and sales roles with CQL, a local software development firm. Before taking that step out, she spent over a decade working in the public and nonprofit sector – most recently with The Right Place, Inc, the local economic development organization representing Kent County and other parts of the region. Her career also includes time with International City/County Management Association (ICMA) in Washington, DC, where she worked on a USAID project in Afghanistan. Megan has worked on several state and congressional campaigns, and she got her start in local government at the City of Wyoming where she served in administrative and economic development positions.
Megan holds a B.A. in International Relations and an M.P.A. from Grand Valley State University. She remains close to the university, serving on the Board of Trustees, the Alumni Chapter for the School of Public, Nonprofit and Health Administration, and as a mentor for the Cook Leadership Academy. Megan also co-chairs the fundraising committee for Grand Rapids Whitewater.
In conjunction with her professional pursuits, Megan is a traveler, foodie, eternal optimist and extreme extrovert. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, loves discussing great ideas, and constantly looks for ways to connect all of the amazing people and opportunities here in our community.
