Janean Couch
Janean Couch is a native of Flint, MI. Since she joined the GVSU community in 2001, Janean has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration and a Master of Education degree in Adult and Higher Education. She currently works in the Career Center at GVSU, as an Assistant Director serving students, faculty, and alumni from the College of Community and Public Service which includes Social Work, Public and Nonprofit Administration, Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, and Hospitality and Tourism Management.
Couch is also a member of the Division of Student Services Intercultural Training Committee, Veterans Network, and acts as a liaison for federal internships and jobs. Prior to joining the Career Center Janean worked as a Program Coordinator in the Johnson Center for Philanthropy where she served the nonprofit community by coordinating workshops and trainings for nonprofit organizational capacity building. In the community Janean is a Founder and Advisory Council member of BL²END (Business Leaders Linked to Encourage New Directions), and has been an active mentor with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program for over five years.
Floriza Genautis
Floriza Genautis is the principal founder of Management Business Solutions a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Women Business Enterprise (WBE), an 8(a) Certified company. Management Business Solutions designs customized solutions for unique opportunities to meet the specialized needs of our client’s staffing and recruiting requirements. It is a professional staffing firm with national capabilities offering clients personalized and relationship driven solutions specializing in placing candidates in the areas of Accounting, Finance, Human Resource, Information Technology, Sales and Marketing, Non-profit, Government and Engineering.
Floriza has over ten years of experience in the accounting, finance and human resources arena with over twenty years of specialization in the professional staffing industry. Her previous professional responsibilities include comprehensive background in accounting, human resources management, benefits administration, and computer/network administration. Floriza possess a BS in Mathematics with an emphasis in Computer Application from De La Salle University, Philippines.
Prior to calling Grand Rapids her home; she recruited for technology companies in Silicon Valley, CA working with companies as Hewlett Packard, Hitachi Data Systems, Network Associates, McAfee, and Nike. Her strength and expertise in Technology, Semiconductor, Manufacturing, Service, Furniture and Automotive Industry gives her the foresight and understanding to find the ideal professional staffing solutions for her clients.
Floriza particularly enjoys interfacing and developing good rapport with clients and candidates and the marketing aspects of the profession. She has active Memberships at WISE (Women In Successful Enterprises)-Co-founder, BL²END (Business Leaders Linked to Encourage New Directions)-Advisory Council, MISHRM (Michigan Society for Human Resource Management)-Western MI District Director, FHCWM (Fair Housing Center of West Michigan)-Board Member, Varnum-Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council, Davenport University-Career Services Advisory Board, WRC (Women Resource Center)-Board Member, APO (Asian Professional Organization), APACC (Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce), GR Chamber of Commerce, CEED (Center for Empowerment and Economic Development), Experience Grand Rapids-Diversity Advisory Council, and AVRF (Asian Victims Relief Fund). Also, active participation in helping with the education for WBE (Women Business Enterprise) and serving in the Council for WBENC (Women Business Enterprise National Council) in the certification committee.
